Acclerated medical program BS/MD 7 year

I am going into sophomore year. It has been a life long goal of mine to get into 7 year medical school. My weighted gpa is 98.6 right now and I would be around 35-45 in my class rank our of 650 kids. I don't have many Ecs except joining many clubs. I will be in national honors society. I am in the highest classes you can possibly take right now. I can't find a place where I can shadow or volunteer around me. I am going to volunteer at a fire station when I'm 16. I am going to a summer medical camp the end of sophomore year. Please help me what else I should do to get in. Also my SAT score is around 1600 and 1100 for math and reading right now but I'm still studying. Should I start a club? What else should I do? Please help me!!

1600/2400?

I think starting a HOSA club will be useful

Not finding someone nearby to shadow doesn’t cut it as an excuse. You have to be driven to be a doctor, but first you need to be driven to find a shadow experience.

You really need to focus on your scores/GPA. Without that, your ECs won’t even matter. 1600, even for the stage you’re in, is really cutting it fine for where you need to be in order to get a decent score (2200+). With enough studying, it is possible (had a friend who pulled from 1600 to 2300+) but he worked tirelessly. You’ll have to do the same. Aim for at least 2200 so you have a chance. For your school size, see if you can edge up to rank 20. With those taken care of, you’ll have a chance at programs like Drexel med. Doing EMT is a good idea for sure. See if you can at least get one of the three–research, shadowing and volunteering–and you’ll be covered for medical ECs. For the remainder, do what you like and whats natural. Don’t focus your efforts on ECs so much though in your situation. Go very hard on academics and SAT because that’ll open up some doors for you that ECs cant. Also investigate ACT if SAT is not working out. Good luck!

You have to get either group or individual tutoring for the SAT’s. The money spent for this will be returned in getting into a program you want or even a scholarship of some type.

You must find a doctor to shadow, do research or enter the Siemens Science competition. All your competitors will do it by the end of their summer before senior year so it is a virtual requirement.
