Hello, has anyone here faced this situation? I applied ED to Northwestern, but I’ve got two big accomplishments that happened in the month of November, after I submitted my app. How do I report them to NU? Do I type up a letter explaining the accomplishments and ask my school counselors to submit them? It probably depends on the university as well. Do I mail a physical letter?
Any help would be appreciated:)
I would email or call undergraduate admission and ask them!
edit: my school counselor told me to type up a description and he would submit it to NU for me. However, should I quickly shoot NU an email and ask for their method? Or should I just send the report to my counselor?
Updates are fine. Just drop an email to the admissions office. Don’t forget to include your social security number, birthdate, and any other ID info so they can link up your email to your application easily.
Maybe don’t send SS# via email.
^ yea definitely dont send SS# over email unless they ask for it lol, that’d come off really weird and thats just generally a dangerous thing to do. But DO send your Commonapp ID #
You need to give them some way to find your app. If you have a number from NW associated with your app, give them that with your full name and birthdate. If there is no NW number, I’d give them the last four digits of your SSN. I wouldn’t go through your GC, I would email the main admissions office and ask that this additional information please be considered as part of your application.
update: I emailed Northwestern asking for their preferred method of me reporting the accomplishments. I gave a brief explanation of the activities and said I would provide detailed descriptions after they tell me how I should update them. Was that the right thing to do or should I have just sent them the detailed descriptions?
It depends how truly “big” these awards are. What were they? Unless these were national or international awards, they will have little to no impact on your application. Even if they’re national, I’m sure you already had other awards to submit. But what you did was fine, no worries.
@golfcashoahu During the month of November, my business went through some partnerships and registration and became a company, and I wanted to let the school know since it’s a pretty big update.
