I have 5 tasteful tattoos that are covered by long-sleeved work clothes and arent huge like full sleeves. Will this hurt my job prospects in accounting if I keep thenm covered by long sleeve button ups?

You shouldn’t have any problems. I have a couple of tattoos on my arms and plan on going into accounting. As long as you present yourself well and dress professionally, (while keeping the tats covered of course)… As you mentioned, you should be fine.

Thats what Ive heard and plus they will never know if they are not visible and I wont be wearing a tank top to work. Thanks for the reassurance

If you work for a big firm, it might be kind of hard.

Most places shut down the AC in the office after a certain time (like 6pm). In the summer, my dress shirt comes off at 7pm and all I have is a wife beater on. Even then, I’m sweating my butt off LOL

What?! Can’t you turn on the AC manually?

I wouldnt worry about it and if it gets hot like the one poster says it does just keep your shirt on

moss-

Which big firm do you work at? I would like to avoid that one. Seriously, no AC after 7?

I know I certainly wouldn’t work for a company that expects me to work overtime while turning off the AC. I don’t care what the position/job/pay is. Clearly the company doesn’t care the least bit about its hardest working employees.

I work for one of the Big firms.

At a rate of $100+ a hour for air conditioning during the off hours (6pm-8am), the firm will not have the AC on 24/7. I’ve worked til 3-5am without AC and my only savior was 2 fans blowing at me.

I also had some of my fellow colleagues work 24 hours with wife beaters on all night, sweating their butts off, go home and shower at 8am, and go back to work by 10a.

This isn’t the ideal situation by any means but this is certainty the case when you are 2 days from meeting a huge deadline. Just bring a couple of portable fans with you and you’ll be okay.
