I just got into the BC masters in accounting program. I want to know if anyone on this message board goes there/has any info at the undergrad or grad levels? I am specificially interested in big 4 opportunities and if it would be worth going there vs unc/texas if i want big 4 in boston.

If you’re good, you can request which office you want to work in, otherwise you could probably transfer to boston pretty soon after. That said, the big 4 will probably want you to fill the local offices first. Personally, I would worry first about your chances at the big 4 and worry about which office you’ll work in later.

I don’t know much about the BC program, but I know Texas has the highest pass rate on the CPA exam, over 4 out of 5 grads get offers from big 4 and mid cap firms and 10% of masters in accounting grads go into investment banking or consulting. However, once you come to Texas you might not want to go back to Boston. UNC has a really great program, too.

Nobody can really tell you if it’s “worth it” for you to leave Boston, because we simply can’t know how much you value the location. Personally, I would go to one of the other two, but I see location as something that’s always variable in the long-term and probably don’t put as much weight on it as you, so take that with a grain of salt.

If you are going to pay that much, you are better off going to UTexas. You can get an offer in Boston for sure.
