This fall, I will begin a four year college working towards a Bachelors in Accounting. I'm debating whether to just get my bachelors, work for two years, and then take my CPA exam thus saving money or getting my masters, work for one year, and then take the CPA exam. I'm not sure which is the better option to take. Work experience or more school?

Seeing as how you usually need more credits than a BS has to take the CPA exam you will want to get a masters if you want to get a CPA

You need 150 credits before the top accounting firms will hire you and a Bachelors degree is typically about 120 credits. If you need a masters to get to the 150 credits, then do it right away. If you can get to 150 credits before the masters (ex. with AP classes, summer classes etc) then you don’t need a masters degree.
