accounting in the future

i am interested in majoring in accounting. however, i feel that in the future instead of people, computers will be used to count taxes and other stuff. i'm really interested in majoring in accounting but i'm a litttle worried. what do you guys think? should i go for it?

You obviously don't know what accounting is then. I bet you think accounting is math intensive too, correct?

go here: www.aicpa.org and you can learn more about the future of accounting, which is promising, and stable.

Is having a CPA a plus if trying to land an I-banking job with an accounting degree or should one just have a MBA? Does it make a difference?

Bump. Can somebody please answer my question?

In all seriousness Penn_dreamer, a CPA license is overkill for an IB job. I'm not sure whether it would help your prospects or not, but passing the CPA exam is not a walk in the park... it normally takes people 8 months to a year to accomplish, and that's if they are able to pass all the sections the first time.
