Accused of cheating

I'm number 1 in my class and the students in my class accused me of cheating. I clearly did not cheat and 3 people in class emailed my teacher saying that I got another scantron and copied my answers down. Idk what's going to happen because they accused me of cheating all of my high school year. How could I not get caught if I have cheated before??? Like they went to the administration and investigated on this & said that they'll call people up and ask them. And a lot of people said I wouldn't cheat.

The thing is... They're saying that they're goin to remove my class rank. From #1 to "not applicable" I'm a senior so when apply to colleges they'll see that & they'll wonder an ask why..

My question is how far will the admin go? And any advices?

They’re saying i don’t deserve #1 & students are claiming that through all four years of high school I don’t deserve it. I don’t know why people hate me so much to make this assumption put upon me.

Any suggestions?..

Yes. Get the help of your parents. The school should actually investigate thoroughly before stripping you of your rank. Start with the principal, and then move to the administration if that does not get the results warranted. They cannot just take the word of 3 people with something to gain without any evidence. If they were impartial and unaffected that might be different. Get your parents to fight for you.

If this it true: "I clearly did not cheat " (from post 1) then the investigation against you should not take long at all, since it is so clear, and then you’ll be ok.

If you are not cheating you have nothing to worry about. If you are cheating you will be better off having your status changed than being expelled from school. Remember the kids accusing you are smart too. They know that an accusation without evidence will backfire on them. Are you certain there is no evidence??

How did you handle yourself as #1? In our kid’s huge high school we had a number of students who had good grades and made sure everyone knew it, vs a number of students that were not as public with their accomplishments… Some took their academic success in stride and some obsessed over it, etc. etc.

It’s so unfair because they don’t have any evidence of me cheating at all. I have good reputation from teachers and stuff. Teachers are familiar with my hard work and integrity. I honestly don’t know what the administration will do because more than 1 student which are also too students and it’s obvious what their motives are. There’s no evidence, and I know they can’t do anything since I don’t have a reputation of being a bad student, record of cheating before, or anything.

I’m pretty sure I would have teachers to back me up… But honestly all I’m afraid is that there’s no evidence on both sides & idk which sides they’ll take.

I would ask for the opportunity to confront my accusers.

I am afraid that the OP may not have a big mouth and strong alliance like the accusers have.
I just watched the movie School Ties two days ago. The school investigation could make the OP become a victim like character David Green in this movie.

I’m not a big mouth at all…so it’s not a good thing in this case.

@ what do you mean victim like David?

His classmates had a meeting to decide who was the cheater and agreed that David was the cheater and urged him to confess to the principal although the real cheater was a different student.

I cannot copy and paste links from my TV.

I just hope nothing goes on my transcript for this. It wouldn’t have been a big problem if I weren’t #1 of my class. That’s the only reason they’d pick on me.

Also! It is stated in my school’s code of conduct that

“Consequences for academic dishonesty:”

 • The student will receive an F on the assignment and parents will be notified for the incident
 • If a 2nd incident occurs in the same class the student will receive an F grade for the class.

If that’s the code of conduct, how could they remove my class rank? & put it in my transcript when first there was no evidence that I cheated & 2nd I’ve never got reported for cheating before. So the worst case would have me retake the test…

Why is everyone saying and making a big deal out of this??

Can you explain this further?

Who is they? How did “they” investigate this?

Again, who is “they”?

You are now sounding like you assume you will be found guilty. If there is no evidence–and if you are in fact innocent–why do you assume this?

I agree with consolation that you should be clear in your posts here. Calm down and write coherent paragraphs.

I heard a rumor among the students that the administration will put my class rank as “not applicable”. But the administration haven’t said anything about my consequences, yet. Because some students said they didn’t see anything or noticed anything about me cheating. However some students did. The day we had a substitute, we took a test. And one of the students and her friends emailed my teacher saying I cheated on the test. Their intention was for me to get a 0 on the test, but my teacher wasnt there that day so he reported to the administrator. I then got called in to the administration & was interrogated with questions like “did you cheat?” “What was on your desk when you were taking your test?” Questions like that. And then my teacher and administrator dismissed me telling me they’ll call people who have been in my class to further investigate. That’s the story.

The accusers don’t have any evidence of me cheating other than their verbals. And one of the the accusers, although didnt say anything, but was part of the accusation was there to claim that I cheated. One of the accusers wasnt there they day we took the test & he still went with his friends to help them out. It’s clear what their motives are.

Can you explain the scantron form?

The students emailed the teacher saying I got my answers off of another scantron. When I could retake the test & get the same score, because I didn’t get my answers off of anybody. Throughout HS, it’s more likely and have been likely that other students copy off of me more than I copy off of them. Students have glanced over my answers many times before. And it would be weird that one incident and report would jeopardize my whole 4 years class rank.

Have you ever copied answers from anyone in the last test? In previous tests? Were the tests always watched by the teachers?
