I'm number 1 in my class and the students in my class accused me of cheating. I clearly did not cheat and 3 people in class emailed my teacher saying that I got another scantron and copied my answers down. Idk what's going to happen because they accused me of cheating all of my high school year. How could I not get caught if I have cheated before??? Like they went to the administration and investigated on this & said that they'll call people up and ask them. And a lot of people said I wouldn't cheat.

The thing is... They're saying that they're goin to remove my class rank. From #1 to "not applicable" I'm a senior so when apply to colleges they'll see that & they'll wonder an ask why..

People can always be jealous. But it’s usually one or maybe two. However, three is something to be concerned about. Face the charges and the truth, hopefully, will prevail.

omg what jackasses in your school. they clearly have no proof, and are clearly just jealous. if u have your class rank dropped, i would take your situation maybe even as high up as the supreme court.!

Yes, I haven’t had a cheating record & I do have good behavior. But the teacher wasnt there that day & he had a sub so he reported to the administration. The administration talked to me & I said I didn’t cheat. And explained and answered his question. And then I heard rumors that he can put my class rank as “not applicable” because people are evaluating that I’ve been cheating all my high school years. And honestly, people are just picking on me because I’m number 1. I just don’t want the “not applicable” or anything like academic dishonesty to go on my transcript…

seriously, take it to the supreme court. and to the accusers, they wont amount to anything in life if they have to resort to this kind of stuff for satisfaction.

The administration is collecting datas. And if nothing comes out from it, then he’s going to talk to the principal and vice principal about this. And they’re going to call my parents and they’re going to get to the bottom of this. Idk, I think if they’re reporting me of cheating because I’m #1 & could easily report other people that have more likely cheated off of me on my tests in my top ten class.

Don’t be. It’s an obvious sign of jealously in correspondence to your incredible aptitude and intellect. I’d find it extremely hard for someone to believe that a person got the number one rank just off of cheating. Yeah, seems so logical; like its really that easy.

Most of the top ten wants me disqualify so they’re trying to get rid of me. Idk how far the administration will go??? I feel like I’m not gonna get into any colleges if this goes on my transcript. I feel like this is a disadvantage because there’s no evidence I cheated! They could just bring in their friends to support them. And that’s exactly what they did.

What would finalize that I am really in trouble?

If you are innocent (or not) you need to discuss this with your parents at once. They need to find out from the administration how far this investigation has gone. Your parents may need to contact the school board (if you are attending public school.) If they are delaying your class rank it will affect your ability to apply early decision at a choice college. Your parents may have to hire an attorney. He can file a civil suit against the school and they will have to produce all the evidence and all the accusers. They won’t be allowed to protect the identity of anonymous informants. It is vital in this process that you be completely honest and not with hold any information. The burden is on the school to prove you have cheated. If you are a great student you should be able to retest to prove you know the material, but it should not come to that. It’s very easy for jealous class mates to make up rumors. I would think that if the accusers are among the top rated students their motives would be obvious to any adult.

that is so terrible! I don’t understand why you are posting here though, there are so many things you could be doing? talk to your guidance counselor? parents? report kids for harassment?

Yes, the accusers are among the top 10. I don’t know how far the investigation will go but I know all they’ve have done is asked teachers and students about me & how I was as a student. And other than the accusers the students provide no evidence tht I cheated or anything. & I have good reputations with my teachers.

Do you guys think I’ll be black-listed if my class rank were list “not applicable”

It’s not usual that a group of people accused you without evidence. It’s not only that your class rank will be changed. There are other grave consequences that will hunt you. If you cheated, admit it. If you did not, talk to your parents, counselors now. This is serious. You have no time to delay. The students who accused you could be disciplined too if they lied.

If they have no proof other than the words of students with questionable motives they cannnot remove your rank.
I’m sorry this is happening to you.

Also, I don’t think you can get to #1 by cheating. Maybe in top 10% but not number one.

The administrator said it wouldn’t have been a problem if one person confronted it but it was like more than 1 and now that is why they’re investigating it. If more people say I cheated, who are their friends then idk what they’ll do. However some people have proved that I don’t cheat and PLUS teachers are familiar with my work habits and integrity. If I was known for cheating to get to #1 then shouldn’t the teacher caught me by now?..
