<p>Have you ever been accused of plagiarism before? I think many good writers out there must have had a teacher or official come at you and seriously ask you if you wrote what you wrote. I myself have been penalized for it without being able to adequately defend myself about it.</p>
<p>Have you ever been accused and how did you defend yourself and finally prove to your teacher/official/mentor that you actually did the work and you did not commit the serious offense of plagiarism?</p>
<p>well but the problem is when you're doing research. If you're not careful and do not cite the information regarding it as a general information, and it happens to be something needed to be quoted that is plagiarism.

<p>Hey, yes I have been accused of plagiarism..last year in 8th grade, so it wasn't THAT serious, but I was going to get a zero/F on the assignment. I was really upset because I knew that I didn't plagiarize, and my teacher's defense was basically that my project was 'too good'. I don't even understand why my teacher thought I had plagiarized because she knew I was a good writer--I mean, I was an A student in her class. Anyway, I had gotten really upset and promised her I didn't plagiarize, and she told me to bring in the information I used to check for herself. (Luckily, it was a project where we didn't use that many sources)..Oh, and I suppose I could have lied and brought in stuff I didn't use, but I guess my teacher didn't think of that..or she trusted me. My teacher ended up changing my grade in the end. =) Well, I hope I helped! Good luck; I definately know how it feels to be accused of plagiarism just because you're a good writer. Turns out, my mom, who gave me my great writing gene, was accused of plagiarism as well when she was in college!</p>
<p>Teachers often form the most stupid arguments. The "I have no definite proof, but its too good" excuse is baseless especially when the student has an exemplary academic record.</p>
<p>There was a person at my school that my teachers eventually found. She literally never composed an original paper of her own. It was always just stolen.</p>
<p>As for myself, I have never plagiarised, and have never been accused</p>
<p>I've been accused and been apologized to. </p>
<p>My freshman year, my English teacher informed me that my "phrasing was too sophisticated to have been written by a highschooler, not to mention a freshman". Go figure.</p>
<p>I went up right after class and made it clear that the accusations were unfounded and inappropriate. She apologized the next day.</p>

<p>this won't help, but in 4th grade they called my parents in and said a paper i wrote was too good and i couldn't have done it myself. I had straight As and was a great writer. I don't really remember it, but I know they apologized. I just remember that my parents were on my side and thought it ridiculous that they were accusing little 4th grade me of being daft enough to do that. Oh, I just asked my mom and it was a poem. Go me! alright, I'm done, sorry for rambling.</p>

<p>yeah, well the same teacher about a month ago accused me of plagurizing. Her main case was the following:</p>
<p>"It sounded funny. I never hear you speaking like this in my classroom."</p>

<p>now I am being accused again one month later... this time I wont let it slide though.</p>

<p>I've never been accused but teachers often get suspicious about my voluminous vocabulary lol and I have to explain that I use the thesaurus regularly when I write.</p>
<p>Next time, I should say, "Oh, I always use the thesaurus when I write. I suppose you do to?"</p>
<p>My AP U.S. History teacher accused me of plagiarism when I transferred schools in 11th grade. It was the same thing as some of you guys. My writing style and the content of my first paper was supposedly too sophisticated for me to have written it. Fortunately, while I was a drama major, I had also applied and been accepted to the school in creative writing and the Dean of Students still had my portfolio and application essays on file so I showed him those. I also got my 10th grade AP English teacher from my old high school to fax over a couple of my old papers. I had to keep journals for my drama classes and I showed him those, too. Obviously, I was very angry and his apologies were profuse.</p>
<p>I've never been accused, thank goodness. I think such an unfounded accusation is horrible. Plagiarism is a serious offence, and one shouldn't accuse people of it lightly.</p>
<p>Yes, been accused, argued my head off and eventually went off with a clear record (and conscience, of course). Happened about 2 years ago, a thesis paper for science and apparently '* jicked it from some book'. I was outraged since this isn't just the work, it's my reputation. So what did I do? I rounded up my past English teachers and it was quite the scene (my school's pretty small) when the English department went head-on with the Science department, defending me. Teehee.</p>

<p>I got acussed of cheating by my Alg 2 teacher I WAS FAILING HIS CLASSS! he's all "are you cheating?" </p>

<p>Ah, I find it humorous how this thread has indirectly morphed into a subtle form of bragging for my fellow CCers. <em>throws on sarcasm switch</em>Everyone's just too smart and too advanced for their puny little HS teachers that they're unfairly punished<em>/sarcasm</em></p>
<p>My teacher took points off of my research paper because she said that the vocabulary I used was too advanced for an average high school student to use. I was mad. But I said don't worry about it because I still had a high A in the class.</p>
