Someone just told me UT students get to go to ACL for free. Is this true??

Also, do UT kids get discounts to SXSW.

And does the university ever hold spring or fall concerts on campus like other schools?

Thanks

Not true. There is no free anything or discounts unless you are a volunteer or something. I know one person who got in ACL for free but I dont remember why.

There is a student badge for sxsw but it’s still expensive - $300+ and it’s only for movies.

There was a free Gavin Degraw concert this year on campus in front of the tower in the fall. He played with Ace Enders.

You are better off waiting until your favorite artists come to Austin and getting tickets to their shows if you don’t want to pay a ton. I paid as low as $12 the most I’ve paid is $22 but it was worth it. =)

Thanks.

So UT doesn’t have like a spring festival or a fall homecoming thing?

Supposedly theres one day when students can get ACL tickets for like 20$ but i missed it. I found ACL totally worth the money last year but the 3-day passes are already sold out. There is music on campus every so often. You just have to be aware of stuff going on. Gavin DeGraw was much better than I expected. And UT has speakers and movies but not as much music on campus. 40 acres fest is in the spring. Organizations do stuff during the day and then there’s a band at night. This year the headliner was clap your hands say yeah.
