I was just wondering if the UC schools had any prejudice towards either the SAT or ACT. I have not been improving in the SAT and I think that the ACT is a better fit for me. But I want to make sure that I can still compete against the SAT folks when applying to the UC schools. So do the UCs prefer either the SAT or ACT? Or do they look at them in the same manner?

I hear a lot of rumors about “ACT prejudice” an I was wondering if this is EVER true? Do universities ever have a preference for applicants with better SAT scores than ACT scores? ):

No, when they say they don’t care, they don’t care. They aren’t lying to you. Either is fine and a high score on the ACT would be viewed in the same way as a equivalently high score on the SAT.
