ACT Chance me: 27 composite

<p>So I got my ACT score, and here are the results:</p>

<p>English: 23 (I was too cocky, I got a 27 last time, this time I took too much time)
Math: 29
Reading: 32
Science: 25</p>

<p>Essay: 9 (out of 12)
Combined Essay + English: 24</p>

<p>I feel fantastic about my essay score, I got a 7 last time, and I believe every single person in my High School got an 8. I know someone who got a 35 composite, and an 8. Its so biased haha, but I'm happy with my 9. English, whoa. Wakeup call, this time I didn't study for it, and now I know what I have to do. Math went up, reading went up, science didn't budge.</p>

<p>School I want to get into: U of Minnesota TC, college of Biology.</p>

<p>Is this a good act score? Gpa is 3.6-3.7, school doesn't rank, very few volunteer hours (25 a year), but I have played basketball, JV Tennis, frisbee, and I'm a part of many clubs (no positions though). Chance me?</p>

<p>according to college board their mid- 50% of score range is a 25-30 so you are right in there, meaning you have a decent chance with your scores.</p>

<p>I think your score looks good. How about getting up that GPA your senior year. Colleges love 4.0 but If you cant get that try for a 3.8-3.9. Being a minority helps but I’ve never met a minority with a low college entrance exam score that has been excepted to a top university.</p>

<p>I’ve taken several enriched, advanced, and 2 Ap classes (Politics and statistics)…</p>

<p>yes being African will help. Are you instate? I would think that you would be good. My cousin was a freshman at Minnesota this year and her stats were similar to yours. She had a 27 ACT, i think a 3.7-3.8, and mostly just sports EC’s. I would say you have a pretty good shot, but I wouldn’t say it’s 100%.</p>
