ACT Essay Formatting

So I hear a lot of things regarding the three body paragraphs between the intro and conclusion. I'm wondering which is better:

1 paragraph to refute the other proposal, and show why it will not work + 2 paragraphs supporting the proposal that you are advocating

OR

3 paragraphs all supporting the proposal you are advocating

I'd like some clarification on this, thank you!

I’ve done both and both ended up with good scores. the important thing is to show a clear idea of what each paragraph is about. that’s what they’re looking for. They’re not looking for the most insightful counterargument; rather, they’re looking for if you can write a polished essay with clear and supported ideas.

When I checked my ACT scores, there were comments about my essays. There was a comment commending my counterargument paragraph so maybe they like it when people do that? In the heat of the moment, you’ll know whether to use a counterargument or not. It alld epends on what comes to your mind in those inital 30 seconds.
