ACT Essay vs. SAT Essay?

but if we don’t know what the essays going to be, how can we come up with random obscure things like that? i mean, if it works that’s great but…

I did something a little creative too though. but ill say right now it’s stupid that they chose such a dumb topic

i don’t think your examples have to be about homework. they don’t even have to be 100% accurate, just so that it makes sense. i’ve scored 12’s on all my SAT essays (prob a 12 on this one too) and my examples are probably 30% historically accurate, lol. and of course, you can always make up a personal example.

haha yeah i said that there were numerous scientific studies proving that multitasking while doing hw helps some people…complete bs.

honestly, i think my essays was really horrendous cuz i felt like i had absolutely no where to go. how is the score used?
EDIT: just looked it up…it’s showed separately. great. Well, i guess i wont be sending any ACT composite no matter how well i did if i bomb the essay

dude that sucks but someone on CC would bring a protractor. . .

hmm wrong thread?^ :D

I took my “own” stance saying that it was up to a student… you can’t categorize/generalize learning, etc. I’m afraid I’ll sound wishy-washy but I had support… kinda. Only 4 paragraphs. Hoping for at least 4/5.

buzzardsbay: You don’t have to have a ton of random facts or people memorized. The ACT always gives you a persuasive/argumentative essay, and most of the time it seems to be about education. My forensics coach has suggested that we start a little book of “interesting people” and know some facts about them for impromptu speeches, and it works here too. You can typically manage to tie SOMEONE into your essay considering the fact that they’re usually on related subjects.

Or maybe i’ve just gotten lucky in subject selection. Either way.

Aerienne, I did the same thing… I’m hoping that works out somewhat well for us, ha!
