ACT hurting SAT???

I recently took my ACTs and decided to send the score reports to OSU and Pitt before i knew my scores.
I have a 2010 on my SAT and was feeling pretty confident getting into both schools, but when i received a poor 26 on my ACT i became worried wondering if that would affect my chances or being accepted since both schools would see it.
Does a poor ACT score hinder a solid SAT score?

Every school I have been in contact with has said they will take the SAT or ACT. They also said they will only consider the highest score. So, in theory this should not impact your acceptance status.

Thanks mica, thats really comforting to know…does anyone else have any insight on this issue?

i can vouche for what micawber said; every college seminar ive gone to, every admissions officer i asked, they all said the same thing, they want to see everything but the’ll only consider the highest score

Both colleges you mention (and generally all colleges) will, when you send both ACT and SAT test, use for admission that test it believes represents the higher score and ignore the other test. The colleges state that is what they do so you can either believe them or not.
