I take the ACT this Saturday. I go to a private high school, and we receive a lot of preparation for it. I took a semester ACT prep class in school, and took the Cambridge ACT Prep Test, along withe Explore and Plan tests in school. I am very familiar with the testing style of the ACT, but I'm just terrible at the math section! It is killing my composite score! The english and science programs at my school are phenomenal, but the math program on the other hand is in need of some work. My friend who goes to our private school rival is 4 chapters ahead of us in Algebra 2, and that is a lot of what the math section consists of! Last year halfway through the school year my geometry teacher was "terminated effective immediately". We had a sub for a month before they found a replacement. So my geometry skills are inept to say the least. We didn't get to 5 chapters because of the sub and orientation of the new teacher. I've really been screwed over in my high school math education and I am extremely ticked off, especially since my parents are paying $15,000 a year for me to go to this school. Anyways, to the stuff that matters, do you all have any secret or important tips for me? I got a 23 in the math on my last Explore test. Help!

With such a tight time crunch, I think that your best bet would be to do as many practice questions as you can. There are patterns in the types of questions they ask and you might see something very similar on the actual test. Best of luck to you.

Practice tests. Practice tests. Practice tests.

You won’t get better without knowing where you’re weak. Do practice tests. Grade yourself harshly. See what you got wrong. Learn how to do it. Try the same problem again until you can continuously get that type of problem right.
