I just did about 40 problems on some ACT practice site, the first link I found off of google when I typed in ACT practice. I literally got all of them right using my iphone calculator and some simple thought processes. It seems that on the SAT math at least 2 out of the 20 questions of each section will give me at least some problems. Is ACT math really that much easier, or is the site I found most likely just giving out really easy questions? I feel like the SAT math is more like a series of really dumb riddles and brain teasers, as the ACT is more like "do you know how to do simple math calculations up to about algebra II, then you'll do fine". I've invested so much time and money into trying to master the SAT, but now, as a junior going into summer, is it too late to try out to ACT? Any thoughts?

any thoughts? 10char

I too invested a lot into the SAT but probably sticking with it unless I bomb it in June. but just take the ACT in September there’s plenty of time. However, some friends warned me, although there is no tricks there is a bit of trigonometry ( like precalc) on the hardest questions. and I heard the timing is very bad… especially in the reading section where I suck. Yet things are more straightforward. so it may be best for you. try taking a practice test( like an official one) and see how you do :]

Thanks for the advice, precal shouldn’t be a problem for me as I just took it this year as a junior and got an A. I’ll just have to take the ACT in september and see how I do

60 minutes for 60 questions on the math ACT. The ACT by far is easier if you don’t consider timing. But like it has been said, the timing is horrible.

The first set of questions are fairly easy than the last couple can be fairly difficult.

It definitely isn’t too late. I would take a practice test based on a real ACT so you’ll get a good idea of your score. Here is the [act.org link (pdf)](http://www.act.org/aap/pdf/preparing.pdf). Then you could prepare in August and take the test in September.

The ACT is a very easy exam if you prepare for it.

That’s how people score in the 30s.

^ But it does get difficult to get a 35 or 36 with its horrendous curves.

April ACT: Missing one on reading or science resulted in a 34.

Yeah I kinda get what you guys are saying, they make up for the easiness of it by giving you 1 minute per question and horrible curves. Oh well…

by the way i had one more questions, what would colleges think if I had a 2100 SAT and then a horrible ACT Score, would they just consider the higher score?

jd- most colleges ask for either the SAT or the ACT (with 2 subject tests) not both. So as long as you take the subject tests, you’ll be able to pick which one (SAT or ACT) you want to send
