ACT math will be the death of me

So I have taken the act once before and will be taking it again on the December 8th test. I am freaking out about the math section. Despite having an act tutor my math score is still only averaging a 22. Which to be blunt sucks considering where I want to go. Reading is a 34, science is a 33, english is a 31. I just don’t get why I am doing so bad on the math. Like whenever my tutor and I go over the ones I get wrong I totally understand the problem. Ugh! It is just so frustrating. It is tanking my score. My mom went to Georgia Tech and my dad went to Vanderbilt so there are high expectations. I don’t want to disappoint them!

Anyways, If anybody knows of any helpful last minute tips that would be amazing!

Pwdancer02 - Don’t psyche yourself out! Sounds like you understand the math concepts and how to do the problem. Maybe go slower when performing the calculations, double check, and breathe!! Good luck!!

Thanks!

Ouch! A spread like that is almost unheard of. The good news is that you’ve got a tutor and hopefully he or she is good. It’s a lot easier to improve in math quicker than in the other subjects, so good luck. The 2 tips I can give is to 1) don’t dwell on any problem that you can’t make any headway within say 30 seconds 2) for a good number of problems you can usually easily eliminate two of the possibilities quickly if you’re good enough, then work with the other two.

Thank you!
