Hi. I’m a junior who scored a 25 on my practice ACT. My goal is over 30. Any advice for a drastic increase fairly quickly? I’ve done tutoring at this one place and it didn’t help. I’m currently getting tutoring at my school now twice a week but I just started so idk if it will help or not. Thanks.
Private tutoring is the best most time efficient use of time. My kid is making large gains with about 10 weeks of tutoring (2 hours a week, maybe 1 additional hour of practice). For him it’s mostly timing/strategy/pacing issues.
My son did one on one tutoring that was online in a meeting room with a lesser known company. He did 12 hours and found it to be more helpful than the big business online prep courses. He took the SAT last Saturday and is taking the ACT today in school. We’ll know if it paid off for the SAT this Friday when scores are released and in a few weeks for the ACT. The tutoring he did concentrated on the ACT because he did diagnostics for both tests and it he showed that he tested better with the ACT. We’ll see…
My DD went from 29 to 33 using prep scholars online system. Her strategy was to use the system to find weak spots then get out a textbook and drill on that skill. She figures she spent 60 to 80 hours. Time well invested as she used the same skills on the PSAT and qualified as a NMF.
just keep practicing the weaker areas. i went from a 31 to 36 in the science section by just really learning the format of the questions… after a while it became super easy to pick out the necessary info
