ACT Prep Advice!

So, I am a college freshman (2nd semester) retaking the ACT since I am looking to transfer.

I took a practice test, and I realize my scores in all of the subjects have fallen by a few points. I will be buying the 2016-2017 Red Book. Particularly for English, I will be using Erica Meltzer’s ACT English book. What would you suggest for Math? I am fine when it comes to timing, I am just rusty with some of the topics. Reading I just need to practice since I have crummy reading comprehension. And for the Science section, once again, I am slow to comprehend.

What prep books do you suggest for Math/Science/Reading? I know there are a lot of forums, but I am not sure their circumstances match mine.

My Sept 2015 score was a 29. My goal is to get up to a 32+. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For Science: read the questions first, then skim the passage for your answer. Reading than answering consumes FAR too much time and you’ll never finish. For Reading, I reccomend a very VERY light skin first, then refer to the text as needed. For math, I’m always quite in a pickle. All I can do is suggest is to memorize some formulas to cut down on time (though, technically, no formulas are necessary). As for particular books, I got a 32 and the only prep I used was the Princeton Review Crash Course. It has good advice (but it will only take you so far).

Are you certain that you will need to submit ACT scores as a transfer?
