Hi
I I’ve taken Old SAT twice, but did not get scores I wanted, so I am planning to take ACT in April.
Well so I went on amazon to purchase ‘Real ACT Prep Book’, but then I saw a lot of negative comments
of customers saying that it does not have any new practice tests for changed ACT?
This is my first time studying for ACT, and I am really confused now whether I should purchase this or not.
Also, I saw that someone said the New ACT prep book will come out in March 2016,
but I could not find any info about it.
I guess it would be still helpful to use the Real ACT book, but I do not want to waste money
if the new version is coming out soon. Does anyone know?
Also, if anyone knows other good ACT prep books, please let me know!
Thank you all:)
The ACT red book is a good resource for practice tests. You can also locate more practice tests and released tests on websites like prep scholar and crack act.
I highly recommend “ACT Prep Black Book” by Mike Barrett. He has strategies for each test section. You will need to have a copy of the red book (mentioned above) as Barrett addresses his strategies using test questions from the red book and you’ll need to look-up the questions in the red book to understand his example.
My daughter improved her composite 3 points using these materials.
The complaints on Amazon were from folks who already owned the second edition of the red book and were disappointed that the third edition used the same practice tests and only changed the material about the essay section (which was the only thing ACT changed). If you don’t have the older edition, the red book is still a great book, it just didn’t provide any extra practice tests.
Check in the ACT section, there are some recent threads with links to old tests too.
