ACT READING OCTOBER 2016... I FEEL RUSHED

Have you found the strategy that worked for you? What were you making before? I tried many strategies to get out of the low 20s zone on the reading section, but ended up were i began (reading the whole passage and answering questions afterwards). I started to make high 20s and 30-31 occasionally because of practice, but my main issue is time bc I think that it affects my accuracy (I tend to take 9-10m per passage and 6-7m on dual passage ones which end up 35-36m). What should i do? I am conviced that I have potential to make 30s on the act and i am taking it this october. I need advices (THX in advance)

btw my approach, like i said, is reading the whole passage while underlining a lot and answer questions afterwards. I feel like i am taking in too much information that isn’t needed bc i also refer back to the passage for some questions, leading to 9-10m/passage. TIME IS REALLY AFFECTING MY ACCURACY

I found the strategy of PR Cracking the ACT to be quite helpful. I usually go through the questions for max 30 sec and underline the major keywords. Then I go through the passage within 2:30 - 3 minutes underlining the keywords I found earlier and trying to get a grasp of the main theme of the passage. This leaves me around 5 minutes to find the answers.
And try to answer the information based questions at first. Hope this helps!

What was your score btw. Like did this help you increase your score?

There was not really a huge secret for me, except to take a lot of practice tests! When i first started taking them, i took notes on the side. As i took more tests i stopped doing this, as i began to figure out what to look for in passages! it helped me, but that advice could just have been a me thing. hope that helps!
