ACT Rumor...

So I know this girl who supposedly went from a 23 to a 33, with tons of practice and tutors, also keeping in mind she took it like five times. Then I heard from someone else that if you increase your ACT score by a certain increment of points, the ACT people will send the colleges you apply to a notice of such an increase....suggesting that cheating could be an explanation for such a drastic increase in score. Anyone heard any truth to this?

That sounds extremely far fetched to me, unless they caught an individual cheating it is a hasty assumption to believe that they have been cheating because they have studied hard and boosted their score greatly.

I doubt it. In cases of suspected cheating, they do have you retest, and if you score reasonably close, they just give you your score. IIRC anyways..

especially when someone takes it th at many times, with a gradual upward trend, it wouldn't make any sense to accuse them of cheating.
