I took both the ACT and SAT and did very well on both. However, my ACT science subscore is 28 and I'm applying to top schools for science. [The entire section was on biology, which I hadn't taken in 3 years...]

Should I just leave off the ACT scores? And let my SAT scores shine through?

Apparently, my ACT shows up on my school transcript, so will it look sketchy that the scores are there, but I obviously chose to leave them off the Common App?

Thank you!

From what I understand, the Science section of the ACT is too new to carry much weight, and there are many questions about its usefulness as a measure of science skills. I don't think it will hurt you, especially if you have one or two good SATII or AP scores in math/science subjects. Colleges will pay the most attention to your best scores. If your ACT scores are already reported on your transcript, I'd say you might as well self-report them.

Memo to future seniors who may stumble on this thread: Don't send ACT scores to your high school if you want to decide for yourself whether to report them or not.
