On the June 2010 ACT did anyone find the science to be terrible? I thought the rest of the exam was really easy but I messed up the science for sure... Does anyone know the number wrong for a 30 (on average) on science I'm hoping it will average in OK with the rest of the exam.

I feel your pain. Science was my lowest section, with 6 points lower than the next highest score for me.

I did not really struggle with the science, but I am more of math/science oriented sort of person.

Unfortunately, I think the score for a 30 is around -4 ish

Oh, I didn’t even see that. 30 was my composite score. And yes, on average it was about -4

Oh ya it was horrible… I know it dragged my composite down probably 2 points.

I thought it was the easiest science I’ve ever done and I still managed to get below a 30…

read the op’s post: all of you who have posted what you got do not have your scores yet…?

I’m anticipating a 36 on the science section from June. I got very lucky with a couple of questions where I had to take educated guesses.

My science background is pretty weak and I had almost no experience with that kind of test (I think test prepardness is 75% of score). Let’s just say I barely made the science readiness benchmark…

^Same here; my scores were all above 30, except for my Science score, which was the readiness benchmark lol

Me too! I literally bubbled random answers for the last 5 before time was called before reading them. The format just threw me so much.

Wait how do you guys know your scores? The only way you can guess is with a CC compiled list of answers but even then I doubt you remember your answer to EVERY SINGLE question.

The science part screwed me! I would have had a composite of 30 but the science part brought it down to a 28 blargh!!

You’d be surprised.

I thought it was the easiest section… But I am afraid of the curve and how much one can miss… I thought it was really really easy since I took 2 AP of science so I knew the basics of the science test and the rest was all reading comprehension.

Haha, I took the ACT in April and guessed on the last 10 (I barely even had time to read the questions) and still got a 35, I got sooo lucky

That is pure luck.

When my D took it a couple of years ago, her highest section was science, 35. Somebody had told her to read the questions first before the passages, so she took that approach. I’m not sure if that had anything to do with her score, but it worked for her.
