ACT Score in Transfer

Hi, I am first year college student.
Ive really wanted to go to dream college, which is cornell, since few years ago and I couldnt get in last year. So I am thinking of giving another try this year.

So I was wandering how much ACT will take in college admission for transfer students. My ACT is 29, I know its below average, with English 26, Math 32, Reading 34 and Science 25.

Also, I have SAT2 score of Math lvl 2C 800 and Chem 770, would this cover up my low science score?

Cornell requires test scores from transfers. If attempting to transfer into junior year, test scores will have significantly less impact on the decision to admit than they will if attempting to transfer into sophomore year. For sophomore admission, you will have sent only your first semester freshman college grades before decision is made and your chances are not good if your high school record and test scores do not indicate that you would have had a real chance of being admitted as a freshman. For junior admission, you will have sent three semesters of college grades and that three semester history will be main factor relied upon, with high school record and test scores becoming a minor factor. That 29 is on the low side for Cornell but not out of the box even as a freshman. SAT subject tests do not “cover up” low SAT or ACT scores. They are just two separate factors and high subject scores can help while low SAT or ACT scores can hurt but they don’t sit around going, “Oh, this high science subject test score must mean that low ACT science score is a fluke.” Ultimately, the more important factors will be your first semester college grades followed by your high school record if applying for sophomore admission.

If you have previously taken the SAT or ACT.

thanks drusba,
do you think I should retake the exam? I know that college gpa (even if its only one semester) is more important than ACT score, but 29… urg… got a good reading score and colleges dont really look into sub scores of ACT.

by the way, i also have taken SAT 1 in my junior year, before I have taken ACT on my senior year, and the SAT score has math 780, reading 600, writing 600 (somehow I got mad good reading score in ACT whereas I did suck in SAT) would sending this also help?

Bump… help please

Anyone else please?
