i recently posted a chance me thread where i put up my act score and the person who replied seemed very surprised..
i got a composite of 28 and my essay scored an 11.
is that really that out of the ordinary?

wow an 11 essay is really good! what was your english score? cuz i had a 34 english and only an 8 essay.

Nope. I am not entirely surprised. Because one thing different about the ACT from the SAT is that the writing score for your essay is not tabulated into your Composite score. That said your essay does not affect your overall composite score at all!

For instance, my friend scored a 35 for his ACT composite but only got a 6 for his essay.

goldandblue92: my english score was a 30.

No its not. Actually, composite score is without the writing. ACT also offers a composite + writing score, where u take ur english+writing score instead of ur english only and compile your composite with that.
