<p>I don't believe so. I think it's own separate grade that is not factored into the composite (if it was then you wouldn't have the option of taking writing).</p>
<p>They do not affect your composite score but they do make a separate score of just your essay and english score combined. But like I said before, they don't affect your overall composite score.</p>
<p>I didn't know about the combined english and writing. Do they just combine the english and wrnting to form a super number? Like a 36 + 12 would be a 48?</p>
<p>No, they have like a different way of combining them, which is still out of 36. Last time I got a 32 English and an 11 on the essay and I got a 32 composite english score, but I have a friend who got a 34 on the english with a 9 on the essay, and he got dropped to a 31 composite english score. It's wierd how they do it lol.</p>
