ACT Scores In, ACT/SAT Dilemna Please Help!

Hi everybody,

I just received my December ACT scores and I got a 35 and I am super-stoked. However, I did not have it when most of my deadlines were due so I sent my much less impressive SAT score to my colleges. (2090)

I have heard that colleges will think of a discrepancy like that as a negative. Is this true? I just wanted to see your opinions, as I am sending in my ACT score anyways.

Or do I still have time to cancel sending my SAT I scores? I sent them in on December 31st I believe. Although I know it gives you a message when you try to only send SAT II scores and check off your SAT I scores not to send.

I know I am much better than my 2090 shows; I have a 5.0 in all APs in junior and senior year, I just did not take the SAT well I guess. People at my school with similar grades are scoring over 2200, but I couldn't and I took it twice. I have met similar people who have not done well on one but have done really well on the other, and I guess I am just one of those people.

Thanks, this site is so helpful just reading although I don't post often.

(I first posted this in the wrong forum I believe, woops.)

Firstly, congrats on your ACT score!

I believe that most colleges will look at whichever is higher, but you have to check each individual college’s website for more details.
