I ordered my ACT scores to be sent to the School of Mines November 24th, but they still have not received them. I know this because when I log in to the online application system, it reads “we are looking forward to receiving your scores.” Should I be worried? It’s been 3 weeks already - this seems like a strangely long amount of time for ACT scores to take to be received by a school, at least in my experience. Is this normal?

Phone the school to check it out, what application system are you looking at? My kid tells me there is no application tracker LOL. Can you include the link?

@Alfonsia The link I’m using is here: https://www.mines-info.org/start/login.htm
I assume this to be updated, but it might not be…

I see what you mean, yes, DS has the same thing but they had got the scores (He confirmed it with admissions in nov and probably sent 2 sets of scores)). Email them to double check. I expected to hear back by now with the 30 day decision in the application they sent him. We are well past that now.

FWIW… we sent scores end of October, admissions said we’ll hear by Christmas…hoping for good news.

I got schooled when I phoned CSM this week, the kids transcript arrived after the date for the 30 day decision thing so there appears to be no impetus to send him a decision. Sounds like she had heard this question before LOL. He still has waiting for ACT on that application page despite the fact that they have two sittings worth.
I still haven’t received any communication from Mines (decision or otherwise) so maybe they just have a lot of applicants this year? It’s been almost two months.
Nothing here either. Frankly the lack of any system of checking and no communications/tracker really has my kid writing this school off. Even the other schools that keep/kept him waiting have a system in place. Another thread says that any decisions post december are waitlist candidates. If that is the case and this is not communicated, it is a very strange way to manage their pool. Do they have facebook etc?
It’s a facebook page called Colorado School of Mines Undergraduate Admissions. Maybe ask on there.
@Rdtsmith that does nothing though LOL.
Just if you wanted to post a general comment but then again they haven’t posted on there in months.
@nofate, do you hear anything from CSM?
@Alfonsia I still haven’t heard back but I’ve pretty much given up interest at this point. Mines was just a safety for me and I’ve gotten into schools that are better (in my opinion) so, to put it bluntly, I don’t really care what happened to my application. I just emailed them to check on the status, however.
I hear you for sure, I followed up with CSM recently though and was told the ACT score date received was weeks after the ACT site indicated payment, apparently CSM receives ACT scores on a disc by snail mail so even if you asked ACT to send scores CSM may take 4 weeks to upload them, the very idea that they hold an applicant to the dates knowing that this is their process is incomprehensible to me. I was told initially kid's application was held up due to transcript, but I emailed again to be told the ACT was the issue, then I escalated the enquiry through ACT and then back to CSM and then kid got an offer about a week later. I cannot find anywhere on CSM's site that you would need to get your application in by early Oct to fulfill the ACT variables.
I’d like to update this thread for anyone interested. I recieved an acceptance (and a packet) from the Colorado School of Mines about a week ago, and recieved an email of my acceptance today. I don’t know why it took so long for them to process my application/accept me, but I’m glad I was accepted. It’s unlikely that I’ll attend but it’s possible.
