Act STEM Premier Scholarship

I just got this email about this. It says it’s a scholarship and it looks pretty good. But I have never ever heard of it. Does anyone have any experience with it? I went on the site but it says nothing about a scholarship.

What about it looks ‘pretty good’? The word “scholarship” Please remember that there are a lot of marketing come ons in this world and they all make sure their info sounds 'pretty good." But if they are coy with pricing, access, how much how to apply, then a red flag should go up. I took a look.

Stem Premier is a startup company, sort of link a linked in for students to connect with colleges and careers. They also rank students who sign up. Not much is known about it at this time that I can determine–it is new. Unfortunately they are not transparent about pricing.

"Is it free?

Yes. Getting started is free for both students and organizations. Premium level membership, which gives students access to cool features and exclusive scholarships, and organizations the ability to search and recruit STEM students for colleges and companies, is available."

I could not easily find information about this premium level pricing that gives you access to supposedly “exclusive scholarships.” They have a slick website that makes you hunt for info. I finally found it at $36 a year. It is not clear at all if the scholarships are just a listing of available scholarships like you can get for free online or if they have a scholarship of their own and if it is more than one or of any significance. They are light on information and ease of quickly understanding what it is. But the concept is intriguing, I will keep an eye on it and thanks for mentioning. If you want to post or PM the email I’d be interested to see.

I got the same email. I wouldn’t look too deep into the website, most websites that claim to offer exclusive scholarships are pretty sketchy.
