Let's say you're applying to a school that values the ACT and SAT equally, and you have a sub-par SAT score, but an excellent ACT score. Will the school completely ignore your "lackluster" SAT scores, or will they still consider it in the admissions process? What about vice versa?

Well, if you send it, they'll see it, but most schools look at the higher score... but if your ACT's better, just send your ACT.

I have to send in SAT to some schools so they can see my Subject Tests, though. That's why I'm asking the question.

As far as I know, they will initially see all of your scores, but when the decision is being made they only consider your best scores. Yale, for instance, asks for you to do the "honorable" thing and tell them all of the test scores that you are aware of, but they will only use the highest scores when they go to make the final decision. Not really sure why they need the old scores, but oh well.
