I had a whole thing typed out but it deleted. Which do you guys think is easier to improve on? Anecdotes & other insight would be appreciated.

What do you mean by brute force in the first place? To take tons of practice tests and solve tons of questions without reviewing them?
ACT. Tons of stuff out there for the ACT but only pounds of stuff for the new SAT. Lift, clean, and jerk those thick paperback books!
@Mrduque I mean by doing lots of practice that will result in a significant improvement.
This is a total oversimplification - but at this stage in the new SAT, anyone who wants to crack it through hard work should focus on the ACT which also has more time pressure than the SAT.
Students can do well on both tests with preparation. I would caution against just tons of practice though. It is important to figure out what type of questions you get wrong, why you get them wrong, and learn the material you need to learn to improve. If you just take practice tests without analyzing and making improvements you will not improve that much.
There is a lot more material out there for ACT than SAT.

They are both easy to improve on if you put the work in. Please note that some find ACT questions easier but there is much more time pressure and vice versa for the SAT. Most kids will have a clear preference for one or the other.
Also my kids found the ACT very US centric in the material and the way the questions are asked so stuck with the SAT.
