Any differences, specifically with the math, i got owned on my math SAt- 530 =(

Math is completely straightforward on the ACT.

There's some trig on the ACT (sin, cos, tan), angle elevation/depression, etc.

ACT math is not as tricky as SAT math.

The goal of the SAT is to test for natural intelligence in each individual, whereas the ACT's goal is to determine if the student has learned his material in high-school. In practice this means that the SAT is tricky and in some ways like an IQ test. The math section will usually have a lot of logical math questions that can be figured out in multiple ways. (Test prep will teach you many of these techniques.) The math section on the ACT is straightforward and practically taken from an algebra textbook. The great thing about the ACT is that is is so much easier to prep for. They keep the exact same number of trig. geometry, algebra, etc.. problems each year and you always know what to expect.. So don't feel too badly if you did poorly on the math SAT. Most colleges will look at both your ACT and SAT score equally. If you did well on one of them, they will see that overall you are good in math.

Yep...ACT math was much easier for me.

33 on ACT as opposed to a 590 SAT (big difference when compared!)

wow. thanks so much
