I'm a rising junior (class of 2011) but I am not sure which test I should take.
Are they all the same?

haha no they’re very different

SAT! <– have a little bit of a bias behind it because I did signicantly better on the SAT than I did on the ACT. And I improved alot more on the SAT than I did on the ACT. Believe it or not, I wrote a paper on why the SAT is better than the ACT. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing it (I doubt that lol). Ironically, I wrote an ACT essay about how the SAT is better and got my best score.

Anyways, people have their opinions on which is better and most people say it depends on the person. I like the SAT because there is no science section, there are fewer questions, and its broken up into 10 small sections rather than 4 large sections (this is nice because you get a couple minutes between the sections to relax, in addition to larger breaks every few sections). Plus, more schools combine sub-scores from the SAT than they do ACT. Check with the schools you plan on applying to about their policy.

Hope that helps.

Take the ACT!

My score improved on the ACT while no matter how many practice tests I do on the SAT my score has never changed for years.

Take practice tests from each and see how you do.
