Hi, this year I will be a junior and out of curiosity, I'm just wondering what people feel is harder the ACT or the SAT? Also which do people feel is harder to get a higher score on? For example is it harder to get a 36 on the ACT or a 2400 on the SAT?

The tests are really different so people tend to have a preference for one versus another. Our high school uses the Explore/Plan (pre-ACT tests) as the standardized testing for Fresh/Soph years, and the PSAT is offered as well. So you get a sense of the two tests before junior year.

There’s a lot of info out there on the differences in the two tests. Some kids hate the vocabulary on the SAT but other kids have a very hard time with the science section of the ACT (but do really well on the others). Some kids prefer the longer test periods for the ACT or visa versa. If you don’t have an opportunity to do the pre-tests (PLAN or PSAT) then get an ACT and an SAT book out of the library and try two different practice exams.

You should google ACT vs SAT like I did. Many websites list the differences, so you will be able to get an idea of how they vary and which one might seem better for you. It definitely depends on the individual. Personally, I don’t like the science section at all on the ACT. The ACT also seemed more rushed to me so I didn’t have as much time to work through some problems and ended up just guessing at the end. The good thing about the ACT though is that you don’t lose points for incorrect answers like on the SAT. The SAT is longer but I believe you have more time per question vs the ACT. These are just some of the differences I found. Like I said, just do a little google search and you will be able to find the comparisons!
