<p>So I got a 30 composite and a 28 on the writing section. Reason for this post is that I got a 6 on the essay. I got an 8 on a practice, but otherwise it's my first ACT essay. Whatever.</p>
<p>My question is does this really matter? I know it doesn't affect composite score.</p>
<p>My son (college freshman) got a 31 composite (with writing 29 and all else 31 and 32) and a 6 or 7 on the essay, maybe worse.</p>
<p>He was accepted to every school he applied to, even reach schools. He applied as an engineering or comp sci major so I think his math and science grades on the ACT and in class were more important.</p>
