I recently got a 35 on my ACT but did not take the writing test. If I test again with the writing test and say, get a 33, would colleges even glance at my 35 if I sent it as well?

Remember you would have to send your scores twice, costing you double. BTW, why are you posting the same question twice?

bump........................

bump........................

Because I do not work in college admissions I cant give you a definitive answer, but I would imagine that colleges would consider both scores. However, as another poster said, you may have to pay extra to send the college both scores.

so they would see the 35?

I think they would. I would tend to believe they would view the higher score as an indicator of your ability and the lower score as a possible bad day or something. Even if the colleges do not officially combine essay scores from one seating with composite scores from another, I would expect that seeing the higher score would influence them in your favor, if only subconsciously. By the way, congratulations on your amazing score. I suck WAY too much in math to even hope for a score that high. :( I would even kill for your low (projected) 33!

bump.................

Most colleges will NOT mix and match ACT scores. They take either one set or the other.

Call the schools you are applying to to find out for certain.

what about writing and composite

Writing does not affect composite!!!!!!!!! (sorry, but this the 5th I've answered this question today)

so will they consider separate writing and composite??

The writing is ANOTHER sub-score and doesn't affect your composite. You will receive two scores - one English and the other Combined English/Writing. Your composite stays the same.

I just don't think schools mix and match ACTs. I would definately send BOTH sets of scores - whatever they are. Call the schools and find out.

So the school won't even consider my 35 composite from this time just because doesn't include the writing test?

I'm not understanding why you are asking the same question over and over.

My advice to you LAST WEEK was to call the admissions offices of the schools you are interested in to find out how they will handle your ACT score.

Why do you think the people on this forum will know more?

Call the schools and put yourself out of your misery...maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised.

i called, they couldnt answer my question
