im utterly confused

Got The Mail
Rejected
Acted Upon 3/29

Bye Guys.

OK, there goes my hope.

i got rejected norcal

My S was rejected. Acted upon 3/29. GPA 3.5 UW, SAT 2240, lousy EC's.

I'd hoped that USC would go for the above average SAT so as to pad their stats, but nope. Same went for UCLA & Cal (and Duke and Stanford, where he is a legacy). Positive trend and a quarter might get you a cup of coffee. From what I can see, GPA > SAT.

I'll be back next year for S #2.

This sucks.

I got rejected as well. I'm in San Francisco, acted upon 3/29, 3.6 UW GPA, 1990 SAT. Oh well, I'm going to UCLA.

I live in SoCal and received NOTHING today while one of my friends who lives 5-10 minutes away received his rejection... I just want to know at this point, I have spent too much time thinking about this

Same status? ^

At least you in-state kids can fall back on the UC system.

I wish I could hear back so I could concetrate on Boston U and NYU. =/

i didnt get anything in the mail and i was acted on 3/29. what does this all mean? i really dont even care anymore.

acarey617: My status was changed to in review on 3/26 and then to acted upon on 3/29 so it does not look good. We can't all fall back on the UC system, Berkeley and UCLA are almost impossible to get into, I guess I will be going to either UCSB or University of Michigan if I don't get into USC.

I mean, I went to two of the top prep schools in the country, got a decent GPA and a 2340 SAT score, tons of EC's, minority status, and I got rejected from UCSC.

I'd take UCSB in a heartbeat right now, although that's mostly because I love Santa Barbara.

You got rejected from Sanata Cruz? Did you apply to any of the other UC's? The thing about the UC system is that it is getting harder and harder to get into all of the schools.

I got into UCSB but know many that did not, it is very nice although I would rather go to USC... keep your fingers crossed, you still have a great shot at USC, especially with those test scores, they blow mine away and I have not heard from SC yet.

I live in SoCal too and I haven't received anything as of 3/31. Maybe they sound out acceptances later? Hopefully?

Yeah, I applied to UCSC, UCSB, UCLA, and Berkeley. Rejected from all four. I was shocked about Santa Cruz, and a little surprised by SB, but obviously not by the last two, especially since I got rejected from the first two before them.

Thanks for the kind words...I'm positive I got rejected though, the status change theory has been 100% accurate so far, unfortunately. I love UCSB/Isla Vista though, I'm considering passing up the schools I've gotten into in favor of going to SBCC for a year and then transferring into USC or a UC school.

acarey617
with my rejection letter they sent some info on transferring
apparently you can apply to transfer after your first grading period at a college/university..something i didnt know
so im probably going to do that..and join fall 2009

Wait after your first grading period...could that mean after one semester? That's cool that they send you that stuff though.

Either way, I will join you for Fall 2009. 4.0 or close to it in college and it looks fairly easy to do. Stay on these boards, you and everyone else planning on transferring- let's get in the second time around.

definitely =)

Yea, you guys can transfer in during Spring of '09. I know a few people who transferred after getting rejected. If USC is your dream school, don't give up. Be sure to show how much USC means to you if/when you do apply for transfer.
