Hi, I am seriously considering attending Penn State next year (depending how my other schools turn out) and I know this school has excellent social life and almost every activity imaginable, but how is the involvement in those activities? Is it common to see people flooding to a certain activity or are they kept at a resonable number (ideal for meeting new people). I've always been into theatre and musical theatre through high school and I really want to participate in college (not a theatre/music major of course). How are the auditions and is it incredibly hard to get a part in the productions with the thousands of people flocking to join? And how are the theatre/musical productions overall and how competitive are they to participate in? Are rehearsals laid back or are they very strenuous? Any help from any current Penn State students would be great. Thanks.

There are over 40,000 students at Penn State. There are a large number of students involved in every type of club you could imagine. I do not know the specifics of the theatre program but I have met many kids that are in it.
