Activities Resume

Can I send an Activities Resume to Yale? Do they require any specific format?

Thanks!

You can attach it to the additional information section of the common application. It’s best to keep it brief, but you should also show your passion and depth of involvement in the clubs. I don’t think there’s any specific format, but you should show how long you were involved in the activity, and if you held any leadership positions.

Thank you! One more question: The deadline is December 31. Does that mean that I can submit the application ON December 31, or does it need to be submitted on the 30?

^^I have a question. My activities resume is turning out to be two pages. from what I hear, it should be 1 ideally. Thing is I could shorten it down to 1.5 if I cut out two activities which are just present because I did them and I felt that I should list all of them. However, I only wanted to explain the other ones (4 of them) as the other two fit in the activities section of the CA. What should I do? Should I just cut those two out? But would that be taken as too informal then? Since it’s incomplete?
Please help!

You should have it submitted by the end of the 31st.

If this is what you want to do, then go ahead and do it. You should really only have an activities resume if the CA doesn’t give you sufficient room to explain your depth of involvement and accomplishments.

Thank you for your reply Harambee.
I just have one more doubt. I have to list the prizes won in those two activities in the resume though. The CA doesn’t give me enough space for that. See, one of them is debate. Now there’s hardly any explanation one can provide about Debate right? It’s obv what one does in Debate and all that has been listed in CA part only. But I’ve won lots of prizes in debate, some of which have looong names. So I have to list those.
(I’m listing activities and prizes seperately). What should I do?
Thanks:)

^I would add an addendum on your activities list about any other awards you’ve won and just list it there, or if you want you could still add a section to your activities list about your involvement in Debate and add it there. It’s really up to you.

^^ Mention on the Debate activity listing to see “Additional Information” for other honors, or something. Then list them there. At least that’s what I did.

A Yale rep visited my school and told us that she hates resum

Harambee and YeloPen, thank you very much for your help!
YeloPen, that is exactly what I have decided to do!

wagsthedog- I just have 6 that I’m involved in. I have to explain 4 of them. It’s not like I have a laundry list I’m going to type out again, it’s stuff that most definitely is not fitting in the space provided. Thank you for that bit of info though!
