people, while filling out the commonapp activity area , i just noticed that they did not ask me to upload any certificate for the activities i described.
do the colleges ask for verification of the activities listed in the commonapp from the counselor?
or you can just BS your way in ?
i am an international , if it helps .

The CommonApp typically does not ask for verification-- it is assumed that when you sign it at the end, you keep true to your promise of being completely truthful in your application. Individual schools may contact you or your secondary school for details/verification if they do not quite believe your story.

International applications are scrutinized more carefully for authenticity than those from US students. Some schools go so far as to engage private investigators or other local contacts. Teachers and principals are contacted, as well as transcript translators.

Also, regular activities are less important for international applicant admissions than US students. If you have won major awards or events, those are easily verifiable and are important for admissions. Other activities simply aren’t as critical to your app.

If you are caught in a lie, even after you enroll, there can be disciplinary action from the college up to expulsion.
