ACTs

say you send two ACT tests in, both with approximately the same composite score, does nyu take the highest (scores from each subject) from each test, so there is the possiblity of a combined composite score higher than the two tests?

and what is their policy on the new writing section?

assuming that everything else is (grades, gpa, rank, ec...) are excellent, what ACT score do u need to get in to stern?

and also what about SAT subject tests? what scores do u need on those to get into stern?

For some really weird reason, the average ACT at NYU 25/75 is 25-29. So if you have a 29+ you should be fine for stern.

Really? What about a 31 but a 3.39 GPA?

The OP said "assuming everything else is excellent". 3.39 is not an excellent GPA.

Yeah, but would it get one in to NYU?

It could.

Oh and I made a mistake. NYU's 25/75 is 27-31, not 25-29. So I would say 30 or more is a solid score.

I love prospective freshman. :)

I called to ask them about the ACT. My best score from one sitting is 31 but if you take the highest from my 2 ACTs it's 32. They said they won't combine. So then I should probably not even send them the second one which was a 30.

Don't want to hijack your thread but do you think I'd get into Stern ED with a 31 ACT and 3.6 uw 3.9 w?
