Addicted to rubik's cube !

I use petrus method

lar5.com/cube

I've been getting about 1:00 minute solves at this point

Going for less than 35 seconds in may as our calculus class has a competition to see who can solve it the fastest (I want to beat the school record)

It took me 7 months to solve under 30 seconds.

Ummm... ok, the rubik's cube can be fun for a little while... but seriously, GET A LIFE!

Here is a guide for Beginners Fridrich:
http://www.pjkcubed.com/rubiks-cube-beginners-guide.html

I average a little under 20 seconds (see my Cubelog on the site). My LL is what is holding me back, I can average 12.5 seconds on the F2L. It is addicting.

Bassmaster, Rubik's cube is definitely one of my passion, but that's not the only one; I excel in many other pursuits including sports.

Apparently, you, as one of the CC members, need to worry about yourself about getting a life :)

DUDE.

My mom confiscated my Rubiks cube a couple weeks ago. I was going to buy a new one, but decided to wait after SAT's (yesterday).

BUT

Apparently there's some stocking problem with the company and everywhere is sold out! I'm so devastated and frustrated because I really really want one. I got addicted like 3 weeks ago and I want to get my time down to below 30 seconds but I can't find an effing cube!

GRR.

And I got cool stickers too, to customize my cube.

Bummer. :(

you can blame it on CCers...

lol, i think lotz of pple are buying it cuz of "Pursuit of Happyness" and cuz of Tyson Mao

When this kid was playing with it in gym class my gym teacher took it and threw it across the gym and broke apart =D.

how sad :(

I remembered learning how to do one. Never really went for speed, but I could do it in about 2 minutes. Got bored of it though, I wonder if I even remember how to do one still

I average about 1 minute, 2 seconds...fastest ever was 38 seconds (the last layer luckily got solved after making the cross). I just use regular Friedrich's method...and the ppl that solve it in like 30 seconds average probably memorized most of the 119 algorithms..and know most of the OLLs, etc.

if anyone wants to learn, you should check this out: http://www.chessandpoker.com/rubiks-cube-solution.html

if you practice enough with that, you can get your time to about 2 minutes

If you get really into it, you can try memorizing a lot of the algorithms from here:
http://www.cubestation.co.uk/cs2/index.php?page=3x3x3/3x3x3

^^click on fridrich system selection, since fridrich is what most ppl use

My mom just got me one today...... :)

Here is my beginners guide:
http://pjkcubed.com/rubiks-cube-beginners-guide.html

I can average around 18 seconds.

Also check here for more help: http://www.rubiks.has.it

Here is a guide for doing it blindfolded:
http://pjkcubed.com/blindfold-guide.html

Good luck.

Can someone here teach me how to solve it blindfolded?

Lars Petrus' method

creativity + originality > memorizing massive amounts of permutations

Got these yesterday after returning my 5x5 (DO NOT get a 5x5, the thing is impossible to turn)

http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/9199/dsc00108on2.jpg

Qwertz, read my guide here:
http://pjkcubed.com/blindfold-guide.html

With that method, I can avg. around 5 minutes (counting memo). I am currently working on a new image system for memo. With it I should be able to memo in around 1 minute or less.

Duper: Rubik's 5x5's take awhile to get worked in. Put some silicone spray into it, and solve it over and over, and it will loosen up, but it does take awhile. Eastsheen 5x5's are very loose, and are much smaller.

I'd recommend you guys check out http://www.rubiks.has.it if you need more help or want suggestions for cubing/cubes, etc.

I think I might've solved one once in my life, and that took me five years, I think the three in the middle shouldn't count but all well. then the pieces fell off one I was messing around with and after I stuck them randomly back on I don't think it's solveable anymore.......:(

PatrickK, nice site! :D I actually found it independently and I've been using it to learn. What a coincidence that it is run by someone on CC!

I put nail polish on my cube the other day... helps keep the stickers in place...
