:) Anyone else in the same situation? I've never been the type to even pick one up but after watching Tyson Mao do it, I've been hooked for 2 weeks now.

I broke the last one I had...

Oh yeah, I have been hooked since late Feb. of 06'. I watched a video a my brothers friend solve it in 1:11, and I was hooked since. Check out my site sometime: http://www.pjkcubed.com . On the left, I have some Rubik's stuff.

So CC .

I'm obsessed too...I do it in the hall (and walk into things) and I try to do it blindfolded when I should be doing homework. XD

I am obsessed with it, too. I began playing with it last summer, and now I can solve it under 30 seconds.

I actually set a new trend at my school for it, too; even preppy guys are doing it... how awkward

I love rubik's cubes! I've never even gotten close to solving it, but it's fun to try.

I have conquered the Rubik's Cube (by throwing it into a brick wall repeatedly).

wow.
this topic you can only find on a cc forum.

definetly not anywhere else,
not that it's a bad thing

Yeah, there is definitely a trend going at my school too. Ever since I started, I got about 25-30 other people doing it.

i can solve it easily but i can't solve it fast. its amazing how people can finish the under a minute.

Hahaha.

My ex got so ****ed off at me when I stole his Rubik's cube.

But my god. It's terrible, trying to talk to someone when they're deadly focused on a toy.

i can solve it if i peel off the stickers and put them back on where i want them.

www.speedcubing.com

Addicted for about a year now.
33 sec average, can do Blindfolded, etc.
Its amazing what you can accomplish when you don't pay attention in class!

Haha. I learned last week. I still can't do it faster than about 3 minutes, but I'm not really going for speed. It's still a lot of fun, and it seems like it's more productive than just zoning out. :D

Check out http://www.rubiks.has.it for the official Rubik's forum. If you go to my site above, there are links to the Yahoo Group.

lol, it's my second week at it so i'm at about 5 minutes...seeing all you pple with sub-minute times makes me depressed :(

how do you guys solve it? i'm doing it layer by layer so it takes awhile, is speedcubing hard to learn?

I use fridrich's method. It is not exactly a layer-by-layer approach, but it's very similar. To solve the Rubik's cube in less than 30 seconds, simply memorize all orientations and permutations for the last layer. The first 2 layers takes skills, practice, and dedication, but once you get it, it goes lightning fast.

...But some people just don't get it, but I hope you are not one of those people.

Thanks for your interest in the Rubik's cube :)

lol, i hope i'm not one of those pple either but what i'm doing rite now is basically memorizing algorithms so i sorta know how the cube works (a little?) but how long did it take u to learn it?
