Because there is the 10-schools-only limit, I have not gotten a chance to add the other 8.
I've been trying to add more colleges' school codes but have not figured out how to do so.
My friend told me that she heard it is possible to add schools if i pay. But i can't even find THAT page.
How do i do this? Help...

Even after reading the thread, i am still confused…

So…make “corrections” and delete the colleges and put in the other 8?
Why do that?
What is the point?
Ah…My dad doesn’t speak English. So i have to do this all on my own and it is sooo confusing!

FAFSA is free. You don’t have to pay for it to be submitted to any schools, no matter how many. The point of adding the other schools is that you want them to receive the FAFSA report. If they don’t, they will not consider you for federal student aid.

The colleges that you put on first will receive the report. Then, after you “correct” the list to remove the first schools and add the others, the others will receive the report. You are definitely allowed to submit FAFSA to more than 10 schools total. It’s just limited to 10 at a time.

No…once you submit your original FAFSA with 10 schools, it will process and you will receive an email telling you that your SAR is available and the data has been sent to those 10 schools. When you delete them, which is what you must do to add the other 8, you will resubmit the FAFSA and it will repeat the process. The first 10 will not see this amendment at all. At the end of this exercise, they will have sent your data to all 18 schools. When you later amend your FAFSA for final 2010 income and tax data, you will need to repeat these steps.

I had this problem and I used their “Live Chat” and if you have the DRN number from your SAR, they will add the schools for you while you chat online. I could only add 2 extra schools myself, but they did it online a a few minutes. The “chat” is very helpful.
