<p>NCLittlebro - again we are right there with you. My daughter is exploring a bunch of options, but I’m just not sure you can beat UNC. We are so thrilled to have such an awesome flagship university here…It will take a lot to get her to go elsewhere. Will look into Barnard - thanks!</p>
<p>dudedad - depending on who you ask there are other quality schools in NC. NCstate is better known for engineering, ag. UNCAshville for public liberal arts etc. Not sure if this is helpful but here a listing of AVERAGE sats at each school. Just judging from this it looks like UNC is a clear frontrunner among the states publics</p>

<p>Thanks for the information. Are the other colleges operating with the 18% state mandated ceiling for OOS or is this just for UNC-Chapel Hill?</p>
<p>NC legislature caps 18% OOS on all public schools in the state. Notably this makes OOS application very selective at UNC-CH because of its national profile but I would assume it would make others more selective as well compared to most public universities.</p>
