adding to application after submitted

I have already submitted all my applications, but yesterday I found out that I won a Gold Key award for my photography. I know that this isn't the most selective/competitive program out there, but do you think I should inform colleges of my award? My main college essay is about photography, and I sent in a photo supplement--but I hadn't won any awards for it, so I think this might sort of legitimize my interest. I don't know.

If it matters, I'm applying to a mix of liberal arts colleges and private universities that are mostly top 25ish on whatever that ranking system is.

Thanks for any help!

Also, if anyone knows how I would let colleges know about things like this (email, letter, etc), I would love to be enlightened.

I would simply e-mail the admissions of the colleges you applied to. Include an attachment that is basically a note detailing your award, how it applies to your supplement, etc. Kindly ask the admissions department to include the note with your supplemental photography or your application folder.
