additional essay for Harvard

If there is something you would like us to know, please inform us int eh essay section at the end of the document. If you wish to include an additional essay, you may do so." The application then goes on to list 5 possible topics, all related to how a specific event/book/project/etc. affected you.
1. Given the above description ("If there is something you would like us to know"), should one in general write this additional essay if there really isn't anything more to say?
2. Should the focus be on how an event/book/project/etc. affected you, or does "possible topics" mean anything?
3. Lastly, I am sending in 3 recommendations instead of 2. To keep the workload down for the admissions office, and that I have not much more to say about myself, should I personally write this extra essay?</p>

<p>1.no. more isn't better. If you feel you said everything to be said, more could actually be harmful. Don't ruin a good application</p>

<p>The application said that they were "possible topics", which meant you could write about anything you wish to write about.. </p>
