Additional Information - Essay?

Would it be alright to attach an essay to the additional information section?

This essay indeed explains some unusual circumstances and why such circumstances exist, but I also expand on it, discussing "what I've learned" and etc.

In a way, it could be used as a Common App Essay, however I have a separate essay for that.

Would it be alright if I attached this essay to the additional information section, or would it be viewed as "annoying" by admissions officers?

That’s what I did. I heard that it is a good idea.

No, the Additional Info section is not meant to be a place to put an additional essay.

It is a place for brief explanations to clarify specific parts of your application, but taking it a step further and using it as a place to just add an extra essay for Adcoms to read is not advisable IMO. If they wanted another essay, they would have asked for one in their supplement.

Well, that’s a shame then because I’ve already attached it and sent it to some schools.

It won’t be a deal breaker would it -_-

Not necessarilya deal breaker- don’t know where you applied and what you explained. But kids shold be warned to be careful how they state “unusul circumstances” - that it’s not inadvertently a discussion of a liability. Good luck.

lookingforward, would you care to take a look at the essay? I’m confident that I did not making it seem like a discussion of liability.
